Thomas Webber

Thomas Webber has been a woodworker for 45 years, primarily in furniture and case goods. Upon retirement he decided that a change was in order but still wanted to continue with wood. Thomas says;

“I love working with wood, especially the bowls, you just never know what the final result will be. You have an idea but a lot of things happen between the beginning and the ending. There have been many successes and many failures. It can take nearly a year to create a bowl if I start from greenwood, wood that has not been dried. The wood is harvested, rough turned, and then placed on a shelf to dry. It’s during the drying process that misfortune arises. Cracking and splitting are always possibilities. Assuming all is well the bowl is finish turned, sanded, and a food grade oil applied.”
