We are SO excited to bring home some birds to share with you! Look at this Yellow Bird with a Baby Bird by Tonya Rund. Look close and you will notice the baby bird being held in the wing. Tonyas birds don’t sit still for long, get one before they fly away and are all one of a kind.
Tonya Rund began her ceramics journey with a pottery class at Kendall College of Art and Design. She had no idea how that class would transform her life. Tonya was drawn to hand building as opposed to throwing on a wheel. Having her hands in the clay, sculpting, adding, is where she found ‘her voice”.
Trees, birds, flowers, faces and whimsical figures are reoccurring themes in her work. Like the cycles of the moon, there is a strong ebb and flow of nature’s current in her work. It is her hope, that she might pull you into that connection with nature, joy and humor.
